Notre-Dame de Paris is a world-famous cathedral located on the Île de la Cité in the heart of Paris. It is considered a masterpiece of Gothic architecture and is one of the most popular tourist attractions in the city. Construction of the cathedral began in 1163 and was completed almost two centuries later in 1345. Over the years, it has undergone many changes and restorations, including the addition of the famous flying buttresses in the 13th century. In 2019, a devastating fire caused significant damage to the cathedral, but restoration efforts are currently underway.
